6 May Update
Monday morning - Tae insisted on going to the airport to see Aunty Lynda off. I also decided to make a quick trip to the office in Fiji after Tae insisted she would wait for me to get back. We are only just beginning to realize the extra challenges of dealing with the added condition of Tae not able to walk and what it means to transport a wheelchair around and carry and move her into positions. Tae started apologizing to Sina for becoming an extra burden and had to be reassured that we are just happy to have her up and smiling and ready to face another day.
I called home earlier and she is now on a catheter - something she dreaded before but now comments how much easier it makes things for her. Tae asked me to let you all know she is doing well - apart from the rain thats keeping her from her afternoon wheelchair ride. She really appreciates the prayer and support!
'Ofalahi atu mo e lotu ai pe.

Dear Tae:
Today (May 6) one of our newspapers is printed on pink paper (again your favourite colour) to raise awareness and support for research and education about breast cancer. In support of that initiative, and of you, my tie is red with splotches of pink in it.
My Father, in the last couple of months of his life, needed a lot of support from my Mother. When we visited, Katherine was a BIG help to my Mother. My Father was thankful for the assistance given to him, but was worried about being a burden. Katherine's response was "It is not a burden, but a privilege".
Keep on smiling!
