30 June Update
I got back on Saturday from Fiji and was pleasantly surprised to find Tae waiting in the vehicle at the airport. She shared how she had prayed over the past week for the strength to last the week and to be able to do the ride to the airport. Even after a week, the decline in her condition shows, with her hands now splotched with red spots and overall she seems weaker. Sunday morning she pinched her arms to show that it no longer hurts - likely signs that the damage to her spine is creeping upwards and maybe affecting her arms. I don't want to even think about the consequences...
Sunday we had lunch together the family from Fasi then were blessed with several special visits. The Heaven Bound singers from the Havelu SDA church shared several songs and inspired us with their powerful vocals and beautiful harmonies. This was followed by the special friends from the University of South Pacific who arrived from Suva yesterday.
Also good to see the Rev Nau Ahosivi - from UCA Australia. Nau was our default chaplain through the difficult times during Tae's surgeries - calling almost daily from Australia to update on her progress as well as driving some of the critical fundraising.
Today (Monday) she is having a good day, reading a book in bed although this is punctuated by the bouts of coughing. She asked for Seafood pasta for lunch and is now talking about watching a movie this afternoon and some special snacks. I am still amazed how she puts up with what she has to go through ...
Hi Tae! 'Ofa lahi atu kia koe. May god continue to give you the strength to be able to do and enjoy all the things you still want to do in this lifetime. God bless you dear...lots of love, Lute
