2 July - Tae's prayer
Happy 10th Birthday "Amelia.. We all love you. God bless!
Tae had a difficult morning with her breathing but by noon she was okay and generally had a good day. She is thankful she will be able to celebrate with her sister, Mia (Amelia) her 10th Birthday.
Mele Kava, Sia and Sipa came to visit. Also good to see Pita Taufatofua and also Anare Matakiviti today. T Tae handed me a piece of paper with the following prayer that she wrote and asked me to read it as our prayer together before she goes to sleep.
Tae's Prayer
July 1, 2008
Dear Lord,
Thank you for all the things your've ever done for me. For being there with me when I was in pain and when i needed you the most. Lord, you gave me the strength to survive ... to stay strong.
When I needed peace and comfort, you gave it to me.
And when I was lonely, you provided me with friends. Thank you Lord . for my family.. and for the love that they have shown, people I hardly know who have been so kind to me, my friends. thankyou for them...what would I ever do without them?
So to make it clear, I just want to thank you for the gift of life, family, friendship, healing, faith, strength.. hope.. love. I now realize the importance of having to go through everything we have been through. That it was not only for my sake but for your Glory as well.
Looking back, I still can't believe I had been through so much! But every time I look at one of my scars, I know that what has happened was real. And that somehow, through it all...we have managed to make it through... because of you :-)
Even though I am dying, I know I've witnessed a miracle.. just being here today is!
And when I make it to Heaven, I'm looking forward to.... not only a new heavenly body... but a new heart as well. Just like Joni E Tada said ... "Don't think that all I'm looking forward to.. is jumping out of this wheelchair. But what's the most exciting thing is a new heart.. free of sin. free of selfishness... that beats having a new body any day".... And it's true!
To think that I could have a heart like Jesus... What a wonderful though!
For now, I'll just keep living for you.. .living every day to the fullest
For Life is worth the living when God is in it.. When you are in it Lord. :-) Amen. ........Tae Kami 1/7/2008

Happy Happy Birthday Mia,
I hope you have a wonderful day with Tae, Mum&Dad and of course cyclone Joy. Tae the gift of your life and those you continue to touch and inspire cannot be measured.
I read somewhere that the soul chooses its parents and you have been blessed with inwavering love and support because of Mum & Dad and the beautiful person you have grown into. We will do our best to help them and your sisters keep your dreams and aspirations alive.
I do believe that you have lived more than a lifetime in the short time that God has gifted you to us all but I still struggle with the reason why.
You are always in our hearts and prayers little angel.
Ofa atu

What an amazing testimony of a girl who is living life to the fullest for the glory of God! Some of us just drift through life - without living life!
Your testimonies are constant reminders that life is for living! it does not matter how long one lives it is the measure of how one lives life that counts!
Through it all - you have learnt to trust and depend upon the Lord! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
Love to Taholo, Sina and Joy and special birthday blessings to Mia!
KEEP ON KEEPING ON!
'ofa atu

Mia, Today is your Birthday in Canada, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Can you imagine having two days of birthday parties?. You are ten and are allowed to still be a child. Keep using that beautiful voice of yours to sing songs of joy.
Tae, yesterday (July 1) was Canada Day, when we celebrated 141 years as a country. We were created by a group of wise men who met and legally defined this beautiful country of ours. They, of course, are all dead now, but their dream lives on. There are many such examples of individuals who have inspired others to create something bigger than themselves, and you, Tae, are one.
Joy, you are aptly named. You have a different energy, provide comic relief, and a young child's refreshing view of life.
Taholo and Sina, the variety and strength of your lovely daughters are a living witness to your strength and love.
Today it is hot and muggy, so no physical tie, but I do have an imaginary one. Today it is flying pink pigs on a blue background carrying big white fluffy teddy bears.
