It has been 27 weeks since Tae left us to be with the Lord ....but it feels just like yesterday. Sometimes we forget its only 6 months and a photograph or a some item of hers leave us totally overwhelmed ... God only knows how raw it is sometimes and He hold us through those moments. Sometimes the memories puts smiles on our faces...
We would like to thank two special friends who have helped paid off the medical bill from Tae's last operation in Nov 2007. We got that bill while Tae was really sick and these two friends wrote and wanted to leave it to them to settle the account.. You know who you are.. We thank you again and God Bless!
Also to our friend from Hawaii, who has been supported us also for helping with Tae's scholarship Fund for Queen Salote College. .. Malo 'aupito! And to all of yous who have been helping out in different ways and don't want to mention their names.. Thank You.
We celebrated Tae's birthday with some of the cancer kids here in Suva on Saturday, 14th of February by inviting them for lunch at McDonald with their families. On the way there that morning Taholo told me not to get too emotional. But when the kids started arriving, both of us tried to hold back the tears as they reminded us so much of Tae. The kids had so much fun, eating, playing games and telling stories to each other. As for the parents, being together in one room and shared our stories, we shared the pain and the struggle and the love for our children. It was a blessed day for us all
But the highlight is the joy on their faces when they received their little gifts prepared for them, reminded us of how Tae appreciated every little gift she got from friends and family. I believe that Tae joined us from heaven on that day with her song "Walk on Walk strong"
We finished off from the McDonald with hugs and lots of tears but it was a day worth celebrating with the kids.. not just to remember Tae on that day but the lives of these children who are still fighting on and we should celebrate every day with them.
I thank the President of the Cancer Society of Fiji, Marilyn Curtis and her staff for helping out that day and allowing us to meet the children and their families.
Also we appreciate the continous support from Makeleta and Wilco and their children, Thomas and Moana and grandma "Ofa Koloi made very nice candy necklaces for the children and their families. Mia and Joy really enjoyed it too and asked if we gonna do it again next year :)
Mia came back from her 3 days camp tired but very happy and told us all about the different activities they did. Mia still loves to sing and she has been singing at the school assemblies and now she is talking about taking part at the Talent show at school in two weeks time.
Joy also likes going to school in the school bus and even when Mia was away at the camp, she asked if she can go by herself but we didn't let her. They both enjoy school and their swimming classes and now they are taking piano class once a week.
One of Tae's dream is for her journal to be published one day, and that's what we have been doing, trying to put them together. It's not easy because it takes us back to 2006 when she first diagonosed with cancer. But one thing for sure on her writing.. is the consistency of her faith in God right from the beginning.
We are still working with some lawyers here and in Tonga on getting the Tae Kami Foundation registered and then we will launch some of the products that Tae wanted us to get out there, to help finance her wish list.
We still need your prayers for God's guidance in all we are planning to do.
